Cleaner

This first blog isn't going to be anything great. I'm writing to make myself tired so I can go back to sleep. I left work early today with what many would consider a "cold," however it's the most annoying cold in the history of the world. Basically, it makes me perpetually have to sneeze. I'm not just talking about when your nose tickles and you think you might sneeze in the next 15 minutes. I mean I've been walking around all day with my eyes half closed and my face scrunched up in "pre-sneeze brace face" because I am perpetually .0003 seconds away from sneezing. Sometimes I actually sneeze, but even then it comes right back, and I continue to walk around looking like I'm blinded by bright white light that has cooked my nose to a rosy pink.

I don't want to continue being awake, because the more I do so, the more I look and feel like an idiot. I am just waiting until I wear myself down enough to go back to sleep and look like an idiot in dreamland.

At least I have things to look forward to. On Friday I'll be attending happy hour with some people from my training class at work who I never get to see anymore since we've all been assigned to teams. That's always fun. My training class got along very well, and we were all stuck in close quarters together from January 8th through... I dunno, sometime in July. Naturally, friendships developed and it's always a pleasure to hang out with those folks.

Then on Saturday I will be attending a "finalized adoption party" for my coworker who, after having her little boy for a year now, finally has the adoption finalized. I'm really excited about that. I can't imagine how strange it must be to have a wonderful little boy for a whole year, all the while fearing that the birth mother will come and demand him back. But that can't happen now. Everything is final, and that's wonderful.

Sunday will be another great day to look forward to. Although it cost me a pretty penny, my sister, brother in-law and I will all be attending the Steelers/San Fran game at Heinz Field! I've never been to a regular season game at Heinz Feild, so I am expecting a whole lot of madness. I've been to 2 away games; one at Cincinnati a few years ago, and another at Buffalo in 2005 (but the 2004 season). I also went to Heinz Field for a pre-season game last year, and that was fun too. But I am definitely looking forward to my first regular season home game.

The following weekend has its own perks. I'll address those at another time. For now, maybe I'm tired enough to take my scrunched up face and plant it on my pillow.
